What's Your Story?

New Bedford is an extraordinary meeting place.  Paths from all around the world have intersected here and defined the city's character.  For the next three years, the New Bedford Whaling Museum will be collecting and sharing stories of the Greater New Bedford community- as told by the people who meet and live in it.  This project, which will culminate in a final exhibition at the museum, is called Common Ground: A Community Mosaic.

Lend Your Voice
A Guide to Common Ground is designed for teachers and other educators.  The guide will help facilitators introduce Common Ground to students, and encourage students to submit their own unique “pieces” of the community mosaic.  Stories submitted to the Common Ground project will be preserved in the museum’s collections and may be shared or exhibited in the final show!
